Dell xps m1330 battery is reaching the end of its usable life
Question:"There's been a couple of times that I'm using the computer and it will completely black out- even if it still has charge. When I try to start it back up again, it does absolutely nothing. I always thought it just needed time to cool down. That happened to me today the only thing different is I got this message:
"Your laptop battery is able to charge normally, however it is reaching the end of it's usable life.You can experience a longer operating time with a new battery. You might want to consider purchasing a replacement battery now."
and apparently this is a common problem after about 12-13 months, you know, right after the 1 year warranty runs out. Seeing as I will probably replace the whole laptop in another year or so, I'd really like to avoid spending $100 on a new dell xps m1330 battery if I can."
Solution:"You can change the battery yourself easily.
A laptop battery is only good for a certain number of charge / discharge cycles, and after that it is finished.It sounds as if you may be at the end of it's life.To check the dell xps m1330 battery charge, press and release the status button on the battery charge gauge to illuminate the charge level lights. Each light represents approximately 20 percent of the total battery charge. For example, if four of the lights are on, the battery has 80 percent of its charge remaining. If no lights appear, the battery has no charge.
Also, if you hardly ever use your laptop outside your house I strongly recommended you do NOT buy a new laptop battery, they run up to 200 dollars and you can just take out your old battery, and use power directly from the outlet, this will work fine.
If you PC is under warranty you can obtain a new dell xps m1330 battery for free from dell, just call them. Warranty period is typically 1 year from purchase date.
