Up in arms:get angry on something.

All us students are up in arms at the news the school is raising our tuition ten percent.

No way am i going to vote for a bill to raise income tax again.The voters back home are already up in arms about how much the government takes out of their pay already and i have to run for re-election this fall.

We are up in arms about his wife's public affairs with another man,that's disgusting.

All the people are up in arms for the serious traffic situation,it could not even move  an inch when people are on the way to office in the morning.

I keep trying to get friendly with that lovely blonde who sits next to me in biology class.But she keeps me at arm's length.

I am wondering why my husband keep me at arm's length recently?

Let me warn you about this Smith fellow.He seems like a nice,friendly guy.But it's wise to keep him at arm's length.You get too friendly with him,and the first thing he'll do is ask to borrow money from you.

It's not polite to keep the poor boy at arm's length just because he has been ever a thief,nomatter how you should give him a chance to change.

 Nerd:the people who are intersted in books,good at study,but not be welcome in the social occasions

Robert is always considered as a nerd ,just because he don't want to hang out with others even at the weekend.that's weird

Sally was ever a nerd in her class,but now,look,she is a successful woman in the computer industry.
