Random thoughts....

Between a rock and a hard place

Idiom. to be in a uncomfortable  situation where there is a difficult  choice to be made where either choice is made someone or something will be lost.  

or....... at least that is how I understand it.

For example:

A fire fighter is in a burning building and he has very little time before the entire building goes up in a blaze of fire trapping him inside.  His fellow firefighter who entered the burning building with him is now trapped under some debrie that fell on top of him and while the fire fighter tries to help his partner he hears another voice inside the building on the 2nd floor.  Now he has to deceide to either help his fellow firefighter or try to rescue the person on the 2nd floor all before the building becomes a death trap for all 3 of them. 

Now that is real pickle of a situation.

All my life I have been the under dog --- the guy who's the loser the guy who gets picked second to last but not last the guy who is always in the wrong place at the wrong time..... 

Yet I can not complain.  Sometime I get my day in the sunlight and I can pull out the glory banner and wave it proudly.

 As a native english speaker teaching conversation english to Koreans in the Philippines the sunny days are plenty but the glory days a very few. 

It's a bit weird living in a country that I look like a Filipino my name is Filipino but I lived in the good old USA for 20+ years and don't have a clue about this culture. 

 I am a man without a country since I've hopped from country to country teaching or volunteering the past few years. I'm used to being the odd man out or even being the only man in all woman teaching staff.  As for all you single guys out there it's not all that cracked up to be. 

 It get's old being the only guy around beautiful young girls almost half your age. 

Well maybe tomarrow this dog will get his "bone"

I'll let all of you chew on my random thoughts about nothing for a bit.

Remeber it is not that I want to stand out it is just that I do not want to blend in.
