Hello friends,
many of you have asked about the difference between SEE LOOK and WATCH in this lesson i will try and explain a little bit what the differences are.
SEE: We use this to talk about the ability. When your eyes are open you can see. There is nothing special.
Examples:
I can see your house from here.
I saw your car outside.
I have seen this picture.
LOOK: We use look to suggest a direction for your eyes ... to look at something. Usually we use this when the thing we look at doesn't move (like a picture but not movies).
Examples
Look at this picture.
We were looking at the paintings in a museum yesterday.
I like to look at the sky at night and see lots of stars.
Watch: We use watch when we talk about concentrating on something. Like a movie or sports. Using watch means there is a movement so you can use that for TV or movies.
Examples
I watch Friends everyday on TV.
I watched the football game last night.
I like to sit on a patio and watch people walk by.
i hope this short lesson helps you understand the difference between the verbs SEE, LOOK, and WATCH.
Please write a comment to let me know if this was a good lesson or not :)
Happy learning and have a great day.
Sam
