Hello everyone,

Sorry I have not responded to emails and messages lately.  It has been a very busy 2 months and still one more to go ... ha ha ha.

The life of a teacher in the summer time I guess.  I hope you are all well and  (for those of you in the northern hemisphere) enjoying the summer.

It's been a very strange summer in Toronto, we have had hot and cold weather.  Everyone believed this was going to be a  very hot summer but it turned out to be ok.  Unfortunately not enough rain has fallen this year and the farmers are not very happy with that.  In the city air pollution was not as bad as the last few years and not as humid.  In all this was a great summer to be in Toronto.  My students and I studied and had a lot of fun going around the city to practice their new skills.

So this is what I have been busy with ... To all of you enjoy the rest of the summer and send me your stories if you would like.  I can't promise to answer them but they will give me ideas for your next lessons Wink

talk to you soon,

i think, I have a litle story, of my country,portugal,..

here almost never the temperature goes so hot.. here goes in the summer, to 43ºc...

in my country, 3/2 years ago, in the summer, maybe always rain, and only on the south, who are hot. but a years pass, and the summer goes hot, and very popolations don't have water, because the water drys. the farms, dry almost all, and some times rain hail, and spoil the wine, and the fruit... this year, was the most terrible, because, the rain and the hot, spoil a lot of plants and wine.

some populations are a litle scared, because, if they dont have wine, and fruits to sell, who they gonna be money?

so i think you gonna like this story...

bye

I'm happy to find this good place to study English.

But I 'm so sad I don't know how to cantact you. I don't know how to be one of your friends.
I'm an English lover. I'm eager to improve my english.
To find out the answer to some questions, I look up in books every day. But I still have many questions I'm confused about.

What should I do. Could someone help me?

Hello Silent Sam, June Parties or July Parties In june and july we have a celebration in Brazil that calls “festa junina” or “festa julina”. It depends on the month. A group of dancers wears colored clothes and we have many foods like canjica, pé de moleque, quentão, salcichão, etc…This tradition begins out of the towns. Came from farms. Today is very popular in the cities. Many people participate. In this place, I mean the “araial”, we have a big fire in the center of de party. We have tent and little colored flags around the party. This is our “araial”. There is a competition between the groups that we calls “quadrilha”. The winner for me, is everyone. It´s funny. We have a weeding in this party, but it´s not true. It´s a lie.   I hope you understand this few words about the celebration. Write to me and tell me what you think, OK.

Hugs, Carvalho

Thank God u r alright teacher!

What I can read above s really relieving. I was waiting and waiting for ur reply. The last time I wrote to u was about a month ago(I wonder f u read that). I felt really bad when u didn't reply. I thought u r upset coz I talked about the Middle East problems. I was embarrassed and I did blame myself for that. Just before I read what u wrote, I was about apologizing to u.

U know, When I was a child I always dreamt about immigrating to Canada. It was depressing to b under the British occupation. So I though about finding the peace and freedom n Canada. Today I wish I can visit my childhood dream country someday.

I have a Canadian teacher(maybe u know him). He always talks about his city, Toronto, that he made me more excited about visiting it, but I'm afraid I will not return when I come!!

Bye 4 now >> Say my "hi" to Canada . ..
