Actually, the Chinese New Year is approaching, so i would like to say, the best wishes with you all no matter where you come from.

However, i intent to talk something about Chinese Year  from  other angles, which differs from your opinions.

To begin with, the atmosphere. Everywhere is decorated with Chinese red lantern; everyone is in traditional clothing, but these are seldom to be seen now. It seems that the spring vestival is no more than other conmmon holidays, especially in my city, you can't feel anything related and most of those who dacorated with the red lantern may be the merchants who take the adventage to attract customers.

Then, we have no special events during spring vestival. The events is different from family to family. Nowadays we tend to be more free: you can traval around the country if you are not afraid of so-called transport during spring vastival in china: or you can just stay at home waiting relatives come to your house to give you money if you are not old enough to work or you are still at college.

And the holiday creats more and more opportunites for  machents to gain profits, including spring vastival. "half on sale " ,  "20 percent off"  ,   "buy two get one free" , these are available as long as you are out.

Don't you think we should really take some practical steps to save our cultures, to maintain our traditions? Our cultural heritage is dying! And i believe that many foreigners have preference to something presents with Chinese style whose core is the profound Chinese culture!

Up till now, i have been educated in China as a Chinese citizen for more than ten years, however i have never had the chances to get close to something ethnic cultural like Chinese calligraphy or Chinese painting. Maybe this is one of the reasons why we often pop out the question  who exactly we are and what can identify? Is this a problem of the education system or the govervment? It worth thinking.

Germany

hi there ^^

the vietnamese new year is on the same date as the chinese one, and although i was born and raised in germany, my family still celebrates it each year with traditional food and watching viet TV in order to see whats going on in Vietnam...

And i think that is a quite important thing so that i can also keep my original culture  whereas i know the German culture as well....
