Hi everyone,

 Tamylin's explanation is good but there are some misunderstandings.

"be going to" is used more often than "will".  The differences are 

  • be going to is a more certain action
  • be going to is a decision that you made in the past (even a few minutes in the past)
  • Will is not a very sure decision
  • will is used when I am making the decision and after I made my decision I use be going to.

Try to use be going to  when you talk about future.  Native speakers rarely use will in conversation.
