And did you notice how, when Ella met Jason and Devan, she patted them down on the arms?

Have you figured out what’s going on? Dale and Ella are undercover police officers! They’ve come to save Beren, who is still being held captive by her evil twin in the basement.

Watch as they sit outside Beren’s building on stakeout, waiting to follow her.

Ella:  Man, headquarters is gonna love what we got.

Dale:  I know. I know. Don’t you enjoy stakeouts?

Ella:  Best part is the coffee.

Dale:  Twenty hours. Twenty hours…You know what? I gotta say that you did a great job last night.

Ella:  It was all you. They have no idea.

Dale:  I don’t think…Do you think that they know that we’re cops?

Ella:  No. Come on. We could take up acting. We should.

Dale:  I think I’m a pretty good actor.

Ella:  Seriously.

Dale:  I wonder if Hollywood is hiring?

Ella:  Yeah. And it was so easy to get drunk with them.

Dale:  I know. I think that they were really friendly. I think they want friends. I think they need friends.

Ella:  They need us.

Dale:  They need us.

Ella:  Us.

Dale:  You know, that’s why they were so opening…open to us. I wonder when Beren’s gonna come out? ‘Cause I need to tail this girl.

Ella:  How long have we been on here? I can’t even…

Dale:  Twenty hours. I’ve been counting about twenty hours and thirty-five minutes. Around there.

Ella:  Jeez. So what are you doing tonight?

Dale:  Lots of studying. My file, Mason.

Ella:  What have you got so far?

Dale:  Yeah. Apparently his favorite movie is Ghostbusters. I have to at least be his best friend and remember. Did you ever watch that movie?

Ella:  I’m not really into it. I’m gonna keep us focused. I’m gonna research their blood types.

Dale:  He likes comic books. How old is this guy?

Ella:  What is happening?

Dale:  I don’t know. I don’t want to know…You don’t want to know what’s in this file. Lots to do. Lots to learn. Got lots to do tonight.

Discussion

Since Dale and Ella are cops investigating Beren’s kidnapping, they sit outside of her building waiting for her to walk out. They’ve been there for 20 hours but they don’t mind because they have coffee.

They get to talking about how they’ve tricked Mason and Marni into being their friends. Dale even has a file about Mason that tells him what his favorite movie is and other ways to be his friend. Both agree they’ve been doing a good job of acting and that Mason and Marni have no idea that they’re cops.

Have you ever had to fool someone or pretend to be someone else? How did it go?

I ever pretended a stranger to talk to my girfriend on line. She was so glad to see there was another guy who wanted to make friends with her. Finally, she knew it was me and never ever tried to develop any relationship online.
