Suppose I am visiting an eye specialist today and I am gonna tell him about my problems. What I want from you are the colloquial expressions for the below mentioned sentences:

1) I want to tell him that I cannot see things properly  that are not close to me.(myopia)

2)  I want to tell him that I cannot see things properly that are very close to me.(hypermetropia)

3) Constant flow of water is coming out of my eyes.

Please advise ASAP.

Best regards,

Abhishek

1) A person who can see objects that are close to him but not those that are far away is nearsighted.

2) A person who can see objects that are far away but not those that are close to him is farsighted.

3) If there is always water coming out of a pereson’s eyes, he will describe the condition as having constant watery eyes.

However, it’s OK to use clinical terms when visiting medical specialists. In fact, they might be easier for doctors to understand.

Hi, guys!

I’ve just come across an expression

She has a new commercial, I think it’s for a car.

It’s located at the lesson

http://www.englishbaby.com/lessons/4824/music/cat_power

down here.

What the expression exactly  mean?

Hi,

In this lesson, Beren and Devan are talking about the singer Cat Power. Beren says, “She has a new commercial, I think it’s for a car.”

Beren’s meaning is: Cat Power recorded a song for a TV advertisement. The advertisement is trying to sell a car.

I hope that helps!

Best,

Amy
