I – the word 'I' is used to talk about myself.

'I' should always be written with a capital letter regardless of it's position in the sentence.

It refers to the speaker or writer.

am – always goes with the word 'I'.

You can use 'I' without the 'am' but you cannot use 'am' without 'I'.

Because it always follows the word I, it will never be capitalized unless it is used in a question form and has to interchange with the word 'I'.

For example: Am I right?

A – the article 'A' is used before words that start with a consonant sound (b,c,d,f,g,h,j,k,l,m,n,p,q,r,s,t,v,w,x,y,z)

example : a doctor, a book, a uniform (u is a vowel but it's a consonant sound)

An – this article is used for words that begin with a vowel sound (a,e,i,o,u)

example : an apple, an ice cream, an x-ray (x is a consonant but it's a vowel sound)

The – the article 'the' is used to point out a definite noun, the only one of its kind, a special one.

examples :

I am the teacher. Meaning that so far I am the only teacher here who teaches english.
I am a teacher. Meaning there are many teachers in Tagged and I am one of them.

I am an English teacher. Because I used the word English before 'teacher' I need the article 'an'.

Articles are used to warn that a noun is coming next. Nouns can be used without articles but articles cannot be used without nouns.
