Seal was one of the most popular singers in the world in 1994. His song “Kiss from a Rose” was an international smash hit and was #1 on the U.S. singles charts for 12 weeks. The singer won three Grammy[/def]s for the track, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
Unfortunately, the years after 1994 haven’t quite so successful for Seal. His third album, Human Being was a total flop. For some reason, almost nobody bought it or listened to it.
Luckily, Seal is back with a new album, and it’s really good. Read on to learn more about it!

Dialog

Seal calls 1998’s Human Being “the album that ten people bought.” His new album, titled Seal, promises to be much more successful. When making it, he focused on the things that were most important to him as an artist. About his music, he says, “It’s quite simple. I’m not like somebody who has millions of dance moves like Michael Jackson or Justin Timberlake. I am the guy that has this voice that people connect with. There is an emotional quality in my music that resonates with people.” (VH1)
“Get It Together” is a good example of a new Seal song that should connect with people. Check out some of the lyrics:
Thinking of the troubles of today
Is it easier to put that gun away
Or is it difficult to stop the world to show you care
Everything, everyone we know is beautiful
Surely you will be the guide in light to see us all
Maybe we can be the vision of a perfect man’s dream

Discussion

I’ve always liked Seal. His voice is totally unique and his songwriting is almost always excellent. He is one of the few male singers who can sing really slow ballads without sounding too sappy.
If you liked Seal’s previous albums, you’ll really like his newest. It has more good songs than any of his albums since the first one – which is still my favorite.
Rock on,
Migs
