Steph:  Dude, John, what’s the scoop on the Grammies? I totally didn’t watch it.

John:  Oh, it was good this year. It was pretty emotional.

Steph:  Really? What do you mean?

John:  Well, you know Ray Charles died. And he got a lot of awards for his album that came out this year. And so they did all these tributes to him.

Steph:  Oh really? So he got it, like, posthumously.

John:  Yeah. So I think he got, I don’t know if it was Best Album, I’ll have to look into that. But, um, they did all these tributes. Like, uh, Jamie Foxx was there, the guy who plays him in the movie Ray that’s really good as well. He sang some of his songs.

Steph:  Oh, that’s awesome. I heard an interview with him on it. That sounded like a really interesting movie.

John:  Yeah. So it was a really good cast. A lot of good performances this year. I was happy I watched it.

Steph:  Cool. I’m so sad I missed it. Maybe I’ll go look for some clips on the internet or something.

John:  I’m sure you could find something like that.

Steph:  Yeah.

Discussion

There is always so much going on around here. Sometimes, you just don’t have time to check out the awards shows that you’d like to.
When I don’t get around to watching one, I always check with a friend to see what they thought about it.
To me, it’s better than reading about it in the news because you can find out how your friends feel about certain musicians.
What do you think?
