John:  So, Dave, I heard you chaired a panel on intercultural flirting the other day.

Dave:  Yeah, I did. It was kind of funny. It was a bunch of Saudi students and Japanese students, and they wanted to know about American flirting rituals.

John:  Were they looking for pointers on how to flirt while here in the U.S?

Dave:  Yeah, pretty much. Um, like, the Saudi students, they wanted to know, if they see a girl at a bus stop, how can they get her phone number?

John:  So, what kind of advice did you give?

Dave:  Ah, I gave pointers on, you know, being perceptive, looking at what a girl is wearing, what she’s carrying, give a compliment, make eye contact. Make her comfortable. Like, you can’t ask, right off, “Do you have a boyfriend?”

John:  There probably isn’t any magic line to it, but just being able to start a normal conversation with somebody is the best way.

Dave:  And staying away from pick up lines. Those are funny, but they don’t really work.

John:  No, I’ve never seen a pick up line work.

Dave:  No.

John:  Besides making someone laugh.

Dave:  Right.

John:  Well, like, what’s one of your favorites?

Dave:  “Your father must have been a thief, because he stole the stars and put them in your eyes.”

John:  How about, “If I could rewrite the alphabet, I’d put U and I together.”

Dave:  “You must be really tired, because you’ve been running through my mind all day.”

John:  That’s good.

Flirting with someone can be really fun and exciting. It’s a lot like playing a little game. You have to know how to play if you want it to be exciting. The most important thing is to be natural but playful. Also, try not to be too pushy or creepy. And, stay away from pick up lines. They’re funny, but they don’t really work.

For your own amusement, here are some funny English pick up lines.

“I hope you have a map because I get lost in your eyes.”

“Did the sun just come out, or did you just smile at me?”

“Do you have a quarter? My mom told me to call her when I fell in love.”

What pick up lines do you know? What are the flirting rituals in your country?

Hahaha…
Well I never flirt… I always love…
but in my school I was a matchmaker…
& I used to ‘TEACH…’ some lazy boys that how should ‘THEY…’ talk to the girls ‘THEY…’ like…
It was funny cuz I was young & sometimes the lines were so childish…
but still enough for them to impress girls… ;)

The most famous lines in my school from me were…

‘I wish I could be your pen when you touch it to your lips…’

‘I wish I could be the chair where you sit…’

‘If you’re sad for not completin your homework then copy mine…
& I’ll happily get punished by teacher for you… but don’t be sad…’

(Here boys & girls sit separately in the classroom… so for that I had…)
‘I wish I was a girl so that I could sit next to you…’

& If a girl said… ‘Excuse me…’
We used to say… ‘Squeeze me…’
(I popularized it in my school after watchin Shah Rukh Khan’s movie…)

But even if that didn’t work…
Then I had another idea which worked almost everytime…

Here most of the girls do have ‘REAL CRAZE…’ for ‘Palm Reading…’
So I always used to do that in school… ;)
& I told girls that…
‘Today in break… you will find a guy sending you a smile…’
‘A boy’s hand would touch your hand while you’d be walkin…’
‘A boy’s bag would fall infront of you…’
’& if it happens then don’t let them go…’
& I used to tell them the first letter of my friends’ names who were interested in them…
& then I used to tell that friend to do the same…
& everything used to be the way I told them…
& girls was like… ‘WOW… HE WAS SO RIGHT…’
But those girls & even me were so silly for not knowin that these things doesn’t even exist on palms…

But I read that for my friends… ;)

Opening lines might not work, but they don't fail either. I mean, If you say right line after the line from your loved one it really works. See example below….

Sarah: I couldn't believe weather could be so interesting.

MiLan: Or may be its because of the company that I am keeping with makes it so interesting ;-)
