John and Migs are walking around a mall, looking for a gift to buy for their friend Joel’s wedding.

Dialog

John

Migs

John: I have no clue what we’re gonna get Joel for his wedding present.

Migs: Yeah, Joel’s a hard guy to shop for. He already has everything.

John: How about this blender over here. He always likes making margaritas.

Migs: I don’t know, man. That blender looks cheap. How about something weird, like a doghouse?

John: I didn’t even know he had a dog.

Migs: Yeah, he does have a dog, but now that I think about it, it’s really lazy; it just hangs out inside all day anyway.

John: So, uh, what about this barbecue over here?

Migs: Hey yeah! Barbecues are cool. They’re always fun.

John: Yeah, and Joel’s always making stuff outside. But, God, it’s kind of expensive. It’s two hundred bucks!

Migs: Oh, wow. And I’m feeling really broke lately.

John: I guess if we go halvsies, that’s only a hundred dollars apiece. What do you think?

Migs: Well, I guess that’s cool. I can handle that.

John: He’s a good friend, we can spend a hundred bucks on him.

Migs: Alright, let’s do it.

John: OK.

For me, there isn’t anything much harder than buying gifts for people. I’m always worried that the person isn’t going to like what I choose.
