The Olympics are being held in the U.S. this year so I decided to go check them out. Salt Lake City is a short flight from Portland, so getting there was pretty easy.
We saw many people from many different countries in Salt Lake City. It’s a beautiful place with gorgeous mountains – perfect for the Winter Olympics.
Below is a conversation I had with Migs about my trip. Let’s listen!

Miguel:  What happened to you last weekend? I called you, like, three times but you weren’t around.

John:  Oh, I decided at the last minute to head down to the Olympics.

Miguel:  What do you mean? You actually went down there to watch them?

John:  Yeah, I flew down on Friday night to see a weekend of events.

Miguel:  Oh, no way! So what was it like?

John:  It was really cool. Salt Lake City has some beautiful mountains around it. There were tons of people there. All the Olympic spirit was so fun to witness.

Miguel:  What events did you see?

John:  We saw a little bit of bobsled and we saw some hockey.

Miguel:  What’s it like to watch the bobsled? Don’t they just, like, zoom past you?

John:  Yeah, it’s really funny ‘cause you can hear it coming, it’s so loud on the track, but it goes by and I swear, you can barely see what color the sled is.

Miguel:  How fast are those things going? Like one hundred miles an hour?

John:  I think somewhere around there. The craziest thing is the Skeleton. Have you seen that?

Miguel:  No, what’s that?

John:  You know, it’s where a dude jumps on a sled head first and he’s, like, two inches off the ground.

Miguel:  Oh, it’s like Luge but they’re facing down the track, right?

John:  Yeah, it’s like Luge but the riders are way more insane.
