Jason:  You know, I thought Kung Fu Panda would be sort of here-today-gone-tomorrow, but it’s still in the theaters.

Beren:  Animation’s like really taking off. Like people…I think the problem is they’re remaking so many old movies just with updating, and you haven’t seen it before. It’s totally new. It probably costs a little less than making a big action thriller.

Jason:  Oh yeah. It’s got a good cast though. It’s got Jack Black and Angelina Jolie doing voices and I guess it’s surprisingly good.

Beren:  Really? I’m not that surprised. I’ve never really be into animation, but everybody I know whose seen Kung Fu Panda, from my 10-year-old friend to his dad, they’re like, “It’s actually really entertaining. It’s really funny. It’s really good.” It’s just like Ratatouille. I was like, “Uh, no…” but then I saw it and I was blown away...Just good clean fun, probably.

Jason:  Yeah. I guess the panda has to…He’s having a hard time doing kung fu because he’s fat, but then he realizes that being fat is the secret to success as a warrior, so it’s like a believe-in-yourself kind of message.

Beren:  Of course! And who doesn’t need a little reminder to believe in themselves every once and a while.

Jason:  And that fat people can kick ass.

Beren:  Exactly.

Discussion

Jason is surprised that Kung Fu Panda has been so successful but Beren isn’t. She says that animation is popular right now and that so many movies are being remade, that it’s nice to see something completely new.

Plus Kung Fu Panda has some really famous people doing voices for it. In addition to Angelina Jolie and Jack Black, Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman and Lucy Liu star in the film as well.

It’s a classic underdog story about someone who does something he never thought he’d be able to. Have you ever gotten a job you weren’t qualified for? Did you learn what you needed to know quickly enough?

Ya~This movie is based on chinese culture.   Actually, penda is regarded as the most preciou in China. It is cute though paunchy. Unfortunately Nowadays, there are not many pandas left all over the world.   Cuz of pollution.    Well, when you watch this movie, do remember to protect our environment.
