Hello! Happy Holidays!
Shopping for holiday presents is a totally different experience for every person. For some, it’s a wonderful and joyful experience. They love going from store to store and searching for just the right gift. For others, gift shopping is torture. They feel like the only thing they get out shopping is a lot of pain and stress.
Zach and John are both in need of some holiday presents for their friends and families. Listen in to their conversation to hear what their shopping plans are.

John:  You have all your shopping done?

Zach:  No. I’ve been slacking this year.

John:  So you have a long list of people to shop for still?

Zach:  Yeah, I have a few people. I’m gonna go this weekend and, and find some cool stuff.

John:  Ooh. This weekend’s gonna be nasty. They’re gonna be a lot of people out there.

Zach:  Yeah, that’s true. But I have it all figured out. I mean I know exactly what I’m gonna get and it’s a little, you know, smaller stores I’m gonna go to.

John:  So you’re gonna avoid the big malls where the, the families are out.

Zach:  Yeah, I’m not gonna hit the malls this year. That, that just gets insane.

John:  What about Santa? Don’t you wanna go see Santa and sit on his lap?

Zach:  Yeah, I’ll have to schedule some time for that.

John:  I haven’t done that since I was a little kid.

Zach:  Yeah, I like that whole atmosphere though at the mall – where they, they get it all decorated and they have the, you know trees and the, all that.

John:  You know the best time to go is like at 9:00, right when it opens ‘cause no one’s there and you get to see all the decorations. That’s the only time I’ll go there.

Zach:  I think I’ll try that on Saturday. Beat the crowds.

Discussion

It sounds like Zach has a good plan for getting his shopping done. He’s going to avoid all the hassles and get everything taken care of in a short time. He’s lucky, because he already seems to know what everyone wants. He doesn’t have to wander around looking for things that might be appropriate gifts.
Unfortunately, I’m not so lucky. Christmas is only one week away and I still haven’t figured out what I’m going to get for everyone. I better stop writing and get shopping!
Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Kwanzaa!
