John:  I had the most amazing time in Thailand.

Miguel:  Yeah, tell me about it. What are the highlights?

John:  It was pretty much paradise dude. The beaches, the food, the other travelers, the nice Thai people – I don’t think it coulda gotten any better.

Miguel:  So did you stay on the beach the whole time, or were you in cities? Or, what’d you do?

John:  We flew into Bangkok and stayed there for a couple days and then went straight down to the islands. We stayed on Samui for about five days and then Koh Phangan.

Miguel:  Are those tiny little islands, or are there, are they populated?

John:  They’re populated with other travelers. Um, Samui has more hotels and stuff, and, but Koh Phangan’s really nice. It’s, it’s, uh, really kinda quiet and just some little bungalows on the beach that you can stay in. It’s cool.

Miguel:  What did you do at night? Did you party at all?

John:  Yeah. We did. There were a lot of fun people to hang out with. And, actually Koh Phangan is the site of the world famous Full Moon Party. Have you ever heard of that?

Miguel:  No. I haven’t. What is it?

John:  It’s actually the biggest beach party in the world. And every full moon every month, people from all over the world come there and it’s… I think there are like twenty, twenty-five thousand people that attend. And it goes all night, until like 12:00 or 1:00 the next day. It’s pretty insane.

Discussion

I’m so jealous! It would be so much fun to go to Thailand. I could really use a week or two of rest and relaxation in a beautiful paradise on the sea. John really made it sound like those islands in Thailand are heaven on earth!
Have a great week!
Beth
