Lesson

LaughingReported speech (R.S) is the way to address a message textually. A repetition of another´s statement but with some grammar changes since it refers to another person´s discourse. Example:

John: "Have you seen Mary?"

R.S= John asked if I had seen Mary.

 

Report the following statements. Use reporting verbs such as claimed, said, told, asked, warned, suggested, complained, advised, announced, admitted, denied.Tongue out

a) "The USA is the biggest polluter in the world" said Greenpeace.

b) "Shall we have a cup of tea" said Claire.

c) The 2016 Olimpics will be organised in Africa", said a sports expert.

d) "This coffee is hot" said Jonathan.

e) "Our country does not export nuclear waste" said the foreign affairs minister.

f) "We haven´t sent them the papers" said Jim angrily.
