It can be hard to define a romantic relationship, especially early on. If you use terms like “boyfriend” or “girlfriend” too soon, it can make your partner feel like things are moving too fast. But if you’re kissing each other and spending a lot of time together, “friends” clearly isn’t the right word either.

When people are dating but it isn’t too serious yet, they often say they’re seeing each other. Sometimes, people who are seeing each other aren’t exclusive yet and may be seeing other people as well. If you’re seeing someone, it usually means you’ve been on a date or two but haven’t official started a relationship yet.

It can be hard to tell exactly what’s going on between two people who are seeing each other. That’s why the term is useful. It lets the relationship develop naturally.

But of course, all of this is confusing for Mason, who last week learned that the girl he likes, Ella, is seeing someone else. Watch as Marni and Mason try to figure out exactly what Ella meant when she said that she is seeing someone.

Marni:  What’s up? You seem a little…sad.

Mason:  Yeah.

Marni:  You okay?

Mason:  Ella is seeing someone. She’s seeing that Jeff guy.

Marni:  Oh, come here. Sit down. I mean are they just hanging out, are they casual, are they dating? Are they, like, a couple? I mean, define “seeing each other.”

Mason:  I don’t know if they’re a couple yet, I mean boyfriend/girlfriend is pretty serious.

Marni:  Yes.

Mason:  Because, like, it goes: married, engaged, boyfriend/girlfriend…

Marni:  Yeah…and then casually dating.

Mason:  ...and then dating. But “seeing,” that’s like way at the bottom.

Marni:  It’s very vague. It could mean a lot of things. I think you need to talk to her. I think you need to just…

Mason:  I did already, once.

Marni:  OK.

Mason:  And I said: “Ella, I like you.”

Marni:  OK.

Mason:  “Do you want to go out with me?”

Marni:  And what did she say?

Mason:  And she said: “Mason, I’m seeing Jeff.”

Marni:  Oh.

Mason:  And so…

Marni:  OK…

Mason:  ...at that point I got really…I kind of don’t remember some things. Maybe if she doesn’t want to see me this way she wants to see me another way. Like, you know, did you see Avatar?

Marni:  Yeah?

Mason:  ‘Cause she says she “sees him.” But not when he was a person, she saw him when he was a Naavi! So, maybe, if I have blue skin, that’s what it would take! I mean it’s pretty hard to miss!

Marni:  Yeah, but…

Mason:  Some blue guy walking around in a loin cloth?

Marni:  That’s not gonna…that’s not a good idea.

Mason:  Marni, I think this is it! I think this is what I need!

Marni:  What…how are you…

Mason:  Thank you!

Marni:  I don’t support this idea…

Mason:  I owe you one. Pound it out. Pound it out!

Marni:  ...I think this is a crazy idea!

Discussion

Go Super to Listen Go Super!

Marni notices that Mason doesn’t look very happy today. He explains that he has discovered that Ella is seeing Jeff. He’s not sure what that means, but he’s sure he doesn’t like it.

After some discussion, Marni and Mason decide that “seeing each other” is the step before a couple decides they are boyfriend and girlfriend. Maybe Mason can win Ella over before things between her and Jeff get very serious.

Mason’s best idea is to dress up like a character from the movie Avatar. In the movie, a race of people on another planet have a unique greeting and way of showing affection. They say, “I see you.” Mason thinks he can use this to get Ella to stop seeing Jeff and start seeing him. Marni, however, thinks this makes no sense and is a terrible idea.

What do you think Mason should do? Are you seeing anyone right now?

I can understand the Mason’s situation because when you attracted to a girl and really love her it is very difficult to forget and go for another one. You tend to become blind and selfish.

Mason should wait a little bit to find a clear view about this problem … If he noticed that Elly love Jeff then he has to make a relation with Marni .

I dont have a girlfriend .. I hope get one soon !!
