Lesson

I can't believe it's almost been a month since I started this.  Time really flies!

Today I want to talk about something that actually is a bit about what I'm doing here and in my online business in general.

Working online has it's advantages but it's not easy.  You have to be disciplined, which means you have to have self control.  If you are your own boss, it's easy to get caught up taking too many vacations, breaks, and whatever.  It sounds fun and great but it's tough.  You don't get a normal paycheck at the end of the month.  If you suck, you fail, it's as simple as that.

Anyway, the phrase I wanted to talk about was how important it is to keep "plugging away" at something.

"Plugging away" means to keep on doing something and not quit.  Never give up.  Every morning you need to wake up and keep trying, even if the results are not exactly what you want.  It's been over 4 years now for me and the work has finally paid off.  I can live a financially free life with no boss annoying me or having to deal with a couple weeks holiday per year.

The key to any success like this though is the ability to keep "plugging away".

In a real sentence, someone could say, "My business is slowly getting better but I'm still not rich.  Anyway, I'm still plugging away at it and I believe that one day I'll be a success".

I hope this adds to your vocabulary and inspires you to live out your dreams.

Hi, andy, thanks a lot for your sharing of slang phrases!
It helped me much, especially the explanation of these phrases helped us to understand easily and deeply!
But on last saturday, I asked one of me USA friends that: is the slang phrases so important for the english learner?
He replied me that: There are many different slang phrases in different country, and he even couldn’d understand some slang phrases. For the common english learner, the common english sentenses are enough in real life! The non-native english speaker will understand the slang phrases after mastery of enough vocabulary!
Anyway, I still write down the mini-lesson of slang phrases!
What’s your opinion about this?
