Dogs need a lot of exercise. Sometimes there are places where you can bring your dog to play with other dogs. It is a lot of fun for dogs to go to a park where there is a lot of room to run around. Some dogs will fetch a ball and others will run after sticks.
It is important to be aware of the park rules and regulations. Some parks have a “leash-law” which usually means that dogs need to be on a leash at all times. There are other parks where you can let your dog “off-leash”.
You should contact the local Animal Control division to learn the rules and regulations for the area where you live. Usually dogs and cats need to be licensed and registered with the county Animal Control.
Your pet also needs a nametag with his or her name, address and phone number. The tag should always be on your pet’s collar. That way, if your pet gets lost, someone else will be able to help your cat or dog find its way home.
You should groom your pet often. You will need to comb, brush, and bathe your fuzzy friend. Sometimes people pay a professional groomer to take care of their pet.
If you need to travel and want to find a safe place for your pet to stay while you are gone, look for a kennel, which is like a pet hotel.
Your pet’s health is very important and it’s a good idea to find a Veterinarian for your cat or dog. The Vet will examine your pet and will help you understand his or her medical needs.
