Do you have too much stuff? Is your closet full of clothes you never wear? Instead of keeping all of it, you should consider donating.
In the U.S. there are several places to donate things people don’t need. In today’s lesson, I’ll tell you a little about them and how to use them.

The two most popular places to donate in the U.S. are the Salvation Army and Goodwill. People often give their extra clothes, furniture and electronics to one of these places instead of throwing them away. These items are then sold in stores at a low price – so that people with less money can buy them.
You can donate at a Salvation Army or Goodwill store. Sometimes there are stations around town that take things, too.
These places won’t take garbage. Everything must be in good condition. However, it doesn’t matter how old your stuff is – somebody can probably use it.
If you donate, make sure to keep your receipt. You can use this as a tax write-off. Any donation you make can lower your taxes if you report it.
Donating is a great way to clean your house, give less fortunate people good stuff at a low cost and also give yourself a tax break. It’s a great thing to do!
