If you come to the U.S. and you plan to stay for a while, you might want to send some things back home. In order to do so, you’ll probably need to use one of three services: Federal Express, UPS or the U.S. Postal Service. FedEx and UPS are essentially the same. The Postal Service is a little bit less expensive, but the service can be slightly slower.
Luckily, all three services are very easy to use. The best place to start is by visiting one of the company’s websites:
FedEx.com
UPS.com
USPS.com

Once you’ve decided what you want to ship, you should follow these 4 simple steps (from FedEx.com):
Step 1: Pack Your Shipment *
Pack your shipment in your own packaging or use convenient packaging provided by the shipping company.
For your convenience, you can order FedEx packaging and other supplies at fedex.com.
Step 2: Choose a Service
For time-specific delivery, choose Express.
For cost-effective, day-specific delivery, choose Ground.
_ For delivery of shipments over 150 lbs., choose an appropriate freight service.
_Step 3: Create a Shipping Label _
You can fill out and print shipping labels for Express and Ground shipments right from your computer. Just find and click the “Label” link on the shipping company’s website.
Labels and other shipping documents, with complete instructions, can be found in the “Service Info” section of fedex.com.
*_Step 4: Get Your Packages to FedEx *
You can find a convenient drop-off location by clicking the tab labeled “Locations” on the shipping company’s website.
FedEx has more than 48,000 drop-off locations nationwide. Chances are good that there is a FedEx drop-off in your community.
If necessary, you can ask FedEx to pick up your package. Just click the “Pickup” tab on the fedex.com website, or call 1-800-Go-FedEx.

Discussion
After you send your package, you can use the shipping company’s website to track your package. Just enter the package’s tracking number, and the website will tell you exactly where your package is at that moment. Tracking is very helpful if you think your package is taking too long to be delivered.
Good luck!
