Everybody wants a place to call home. This is even true for aliens in the new animated movie by Dreamworks called “Home.” It’s about an unlikely friendship between a little girl named Tip and an alien named Oh. Together they learn that it’s OK to be different and to make mistakes.

If you normally like animation, you will probably like this movie, too. It has the voices of big celebrities like Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez, and it has all the excitement of an action movie. But will the little alien named Oh find a home? You’ll have to watch to find out.

Kellie is excited to see it. But does Brian like animated movies? Find out in today’s English lesson about a new movie by Dreamworks.

Kellie:  Hey Brian, have you seen the new trailer for “Home”?

Brian:  Is that the new Dreamworks film?

Kellie:  Yes!

Brian:  Yeah, I did see that. I’m not all that interested. I’m more of a fan of Pixar movies.

Kellie:  Oh, but you do like animation?

Brian:  I do, yeah, I really like “Toy Story” and “WALL-E.” I think those were really good. I feel like those kind of set the bar for animated films.

Kellie:  Well, this one… some of the voice-overs are really great. There’s Jennifer Lopez.

Brian:  Yeah. Rihanna as well, I believe.

Kellie:  Yes! Right.

Brian:  Yeah, I feel like most of their films are all about the outcast, and I really like the themes that Pixar movies play with, like growing up.

Kellie:  Well, I can see that. I guess you have high standards.

Brian:  It’s just to each their own. I don’t think necessarily one’s better.

Kellie:  Well, I think it’ll be good. So if you want to go see it, I’ll buy your ticket.

Brian:  Alright, I’ll buy the popcorn

Kellie wants to see the new animated movie “Home.” She really likes animation, and thinks this movie will be good because it has voice-overs from people like Jennifer Lopez. Kellie thinks that Brian will like the movie too, and says she will buy his ticket if he goes with her.

Brian likes animated movies, but he normally likes ones made by Pixar more than ones made by Dreamworks. He thinks Pixar movies like “Toy Story” and “WALL-E” set the bar for animated movies. Still, Brian agrees to go see it, and even says he will buy popcorn.

Do you want to see “Home”? What is your favorite animated movie?

Hmm. Actually aliens movies don’t appeal to me much, even the voice-overs don’t thrill me because I’m hearing voices and that’s it, whosever the voice is.

I like animated movies like Tangled, which is my best animated movie till now. Also Brave is one of my favourites, and the alikes..

Even though, I don’t like too much the animated movies, but, often, watching that kind of films,we  will always learn something or will have fun.In the case of the movie “WALL-E” ,mentioned by Brian while talking Kellie, its topic is very interesting for all of us..living on Earth, like pollution, over population,water,environment,food,etc.. I think, also,I did not set the bar my english language here, but the opposite…..Regards

Animation movies… I probably say about this category  – to each their own. i used to like them a lot, but looks like i outgrew that fantastic entertainment. Recently I went with my son, ‘Sponge Bob out of water’, and caught myself falling asleep. Sorry. But my 7 year old was enjoying it big time! And when we went to Cinderella, we switched roles :)

As my daughter adores animated movies I’ll surely take her to watch “Home” if it hits the theatres here. I hope it will be good enough to hold my attention, so that I wouldn’t sit there and try to figure out what to cook for lunch the next day.

I have watched many animated movies, but it’s the beauty of Shrek that is still refusing to go away from my eyes and heart.
