I used to take a nap when I was teenager because I was not working and I had much longer free time. I wish I could take a nap in the day.It would be great and taking nap might increase energy efficiency.

I don`t like napping but what happens is that almost on weekends when i have freetime to browse the web i get drowsy and give in to the temptation  of taking a nap . In the northern part of my country in summer is extremely hot  , people usually after noon stay inside of their houses  napping or having a “siesta”  until the sun goes down ,then reasume their activities.

I usually don’t take a nap,it happens rarely.It’s somthing i didn’t get used to,it happens only when i really feel exhausted.Sometimes during the afternoon,after lunch time,i don’t know what to do,i just try,and force my self even,but i can’t,i just close my eyes for a while,then get out of the bed.I think it’s a matter of a habit,that’s it.

I’ve recently read a book about how to reach optimizing sleep and part of it talked about taking naps, the substance in it is that naps shouldn’t exceed 90 mins or so and it has to be some time between afternoon and before lunch. That’s the ideal model of a nap. The book also mentioned that these standards only work with early risers not deep sleepers.

I don’t often take naps, because I usually get up around 9 or 10 am, so I don’t do really much to need a nap after 3 or 4 hours. It only happens when I go out and go back home dead tired that I need to sleep, and mostly it impacts my sleep at night.

I do like taking naps, but I wish I could do it without feeling so guilty afterwards. I don’t know why, but it makes me feel like I’m wasting my time when I could actually be doing something productive. Besides, I almost never get around to it, so… It’s not like I have a choice when it happens. I just doze off and that’s it.

When I was younger I never ran out of energy so there was no need in taking naps in the middle of the day but now It’s different. When I get home after a stressful day at work, I feel so tired and usually put some relaxing music on and then lie down on the floor and try to drift off.

By the way, I read an interesting news in a newspaper the other day that more and more Japaneses firms are encouraging their workers to sleep on the job and convinced that it leads to better work performance. And most employees think their performance has improved since they started taking naps at their desks. I hope other companies around the world would follow the trend and do such a favor to their employees.
