Steph: Hey. Guess what?
Allison: What?
Steph: I bought a new car last week.
Allison: Wow. Great!
Steph: Yeah. It’s totally cool. It’s kinda hard but in the end it’s worth it.
Allison: I’ve heard that it’s hard to buy a car.
Steph: Yeah. I mean, it’s kind of expensive. But, ya know I had to get my financing together and stuff.
Allison: Did you understand what you were doing?
Steph: I don’t know. I mean, there was a lot of small print in all the documents I was signing. But, um, I got a loan from my bank so I’m happy with it.
Allison: Was there a lot of paperwork?
Steph: Oh my gosh. There were like twenty things that I had to sign. It was ridiculous.
Allison: Were the people helpful?
Steph: They were helpful but they were trying to sell me things every time I turned around.
Allison: Did you hold your own? Did you not buy the things you didn’t want to buy?
Steph: Totally. They tried to sell me like 4 thousand dollars worth of extra stuff, ya know. And I was like no I’m not buying that. I don’t need that.
Allison: Good for you!
Steph: Yeah.

Although it was complicated to buy a new car, in the end it was well worth it. I have never owned a new car, so I decided to get the one I wanted.
In the end, I decided to buy a Honda hybrid because it gets such great gas mileage.
Some of my friends are a little bit jealous, but I don’t really care. If they wanted to buy a new car, they could do it too. It just takes a lot of hard work and focus.
