If there are two stars you’d expect to see in a romantic comedy, Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock would be them. Both Hugh and Sandra are famous for their roles in funny stories about love, friendship and relationships. Grant became a prominent actor after his role in the enormously popular film Four Weddings and a Funeral. Similarly, Sandra Bullock burst onto the scene with her role in blockbuster movie Speed.
Since becoming movie stars, both Bullock and Grant had each been in several good romantic comedies, but they’d never been in a movie together. Now they finally share screen time in Two Weeks Notice. John recently saw the film and apparently liked it. Listen to him give Josh his opinion.

Josh:  Hey John, you should put that Norah Jones album on. I really like that one.

John:  Yeah, let’s do that. And, you know I just saw her in a movie – Two Weeks Notice. Have you seen that?

Josh:  No. She’s… Is she an actor in it? Or does she sing in it?

John:  No. She’s just singing in it. She’s playing the piano. But it’s, it’s a movie with Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock.

Josh:  That’s cool. Did you see that with your girlfriend or something?

John:  Well I saw it actually because I thought Migs might be interested in it. I thought I could critique it for him, but… Actually, I was on the plane coming home from New York, so I didn’t really have a choice. But, actually it was pretty good.

Josh:  Yeah, I guess on a plane pretty much anything seems pretty good, with, uh… You know, you’re a captive audience.

John:  Yeah, there’s nothing really else to do, but you know, I think I would rent that, or I would recommend that somebody rented it.

Josh:  I mean, Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock – I bet that’s a romantic comedy, right?

John:  Yeah, you probably have to see it with your girlfriend or boyfriend to really enjoy it. I wouldn’t recommend you sitting around on like a poker night with your guy friends and seeing it.

Josh:  I’ll take, I’ll take that advice.

Discussion

I haven’t seen Two Weeks Notice, but I am a big fan of both Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock. Hugh has been in a couple of my favorite movies – About a Boy and Bridget Jones’s Diary – and I also really liked him in Notting Hill with Julia Roberts. Sandra Bullock is cute and quirky and has played some great characters. I especially liked her in 28 Days. She was hilarious in that movie.
Romantic comedies are definitely one of my favorite movie types. It always feels good to watch a romantic comedy because they always end happily and leave me with a smile on my face.
See you at the movies!
Anna

Frequently is happened that two people who dislike each other in the end they fell in love. If you like funny-romantic movies, you love that to.
