Technology is changing the way we do things every day. It really wasn’t long ago that to see a movie, you had to go to the movie theatre. After that, it became pretty common to rent videos. Now, DVDs have replaced videos. And you don’t even have to go get the DVDs at a store anymore. Check out the newest way to get movies delivered to your house.

Derek:  You’ve had that movie for about a week. Aren’t you gonna get late charges?

Steph:  Late charges? No way! I got this movie from one of those, um, mail away services, where, um, you get movies in the mail.

Derek:  You get movies in the mail?

Steph:  Yeah. Yeah. It’s an internet site and you put all the movies you wanna watch on a list. And then, when they become available, they send it to you.

Derek:  That sounds nice. It’s rent, right? You don’t buy them?

Steph:  Yeah, you rent them. And you can keep them as long as you want and you have any late charges. You pay $20 a month and you can get as many videos as you want in a month.

Derek:  Well that’s cool. ‘Cause I always spend a lot of money on late charges.

Steph:  Totally. And you don’t have to, ya know, buy gas to go to the video store. Um, as soon as you send one of the older movies back, you get a new one in the mail, like two days later. It’s great.

Derek:  Well that’s sweet. I think, uh, I’m gonna have to give that a shot sometime.

Steph:  Yeah. Maybe I’ll get a referral bonus.

Derek:  That’d be cool!

Discussion

For people like me, this new service is a godsend. I am so air-headed that I will rent a movie and leave it in my DVD player for a couple of weeks. After paying all of the late charges, it’s cheaper just to buy movies. With this new way to get movies, I will never have to pay a late charge again! Cool!
