It was 3:00 in the morning and I was sleeping soundly. All of a sudden, the fire alarm started going off. I woke up startled.
A few seconds later, I heard some kids running outside. They were laughing, so I thought that they had pulled the fire alarm. Because of this, I didn’t think there was a real fire.
A minute later, someone came running down the hall. They were screaming, “Fire!” and pounding on all the doors, telling people to get outside fast. I jumped out of bed and ran outside in my pajamas.
When I got outside, the whole building was standing there. We were all wondering what was happening because we didn’t see any smoke. People had their cats and valuable possessions with them. Everyone was scared.
Seven fire trucks pulled up in front of the building and the firemen ran inside. Soon they came back outside and looked angry.
They told us that someone had set off a fire extinguisher in the building. The chemicals in the extinguisher were released into a hallway and looked like smoke. It was just a prank after all.
All the trucks soon left and we were soon back in bed. It was quite an adventure! And remember, it’s always better to be safe than sorry!

Discussion
There are a lot of people who think pranks like this are funny. I didn’t think it was very funny though when I was standing outside in the cold. However, it was a little exciting when the fire trucks came. And it was good that everyone was safe.
Hope you have a good, safe week!
