door guy: Uh, well, you, I’m sorry. You’re gonna have to go home and get it. I’m not allowed to let you in here without proper ID.Steph: Don’t? I mean, I’m totally over 21. Can’t you tell? I mean, this is ridiculous. I’ve been to this bar. I come here like two to three nights a week. I know the bartender. What’s the problem?
door guy: I’m sorry. I don’t make the rules around here. I just gotta follow ’em. Either you show ID or you don’t get in.Steph: Can I speak to your manager or something?

In America, the drinking age is 21 years old. That means, in order to get into a lot of clubs, you have to be 21 or older. And don’t think that just because you LOOK older than 21 that you will get in. You have to PROVE your age with identification. When I came back from Europe, I kept on forgetting to bring my ID with me to clubs. Eventually, I remembered to bring it with me at all times. It’s such a hassle to go home and pick up your ID!
